Hey guys, this is something I've been wanting to look into for a while. I know Vacuum brakes were popular 'across the pond' and has some use here int he US. I have basic understating of how they work, however there's one thing I've been trying to see and have been unsuccessful.
What do the hoses look like? I'm well familiar with the UK style of things where they're mounted higher up, baring a resemblance to how the Uintah used their air hoses.
So more specifically, when US narrow gauge railroads used Vacuum brakes did the hoses look like air hoses today? Did they use glad hands, or was a different connection used. Visual aid is what I'm looking for and any help would be immensely appreciated!
