This includes standard gauge lines in the Alamosa area. It looks like promotions slowed down even before the Depression. No. 31 D.E. Smith took 14 years to get promoted, contrasted with Alva Lyons, who took seven. Part of Lyons' time was on the B&B gang and in the Army in France during WWI. He built railroad cars for Uncle Sam.
J.C. Legg, trainman on the last run of the Chili Line, was not listed. His brakeman's date was 9.4.25.(My Hyphen key broke). He was either not yet promoted, transferred to another part of the railroad of listed on the next page which I didn't copy.
