George NiederauerJohn Earl Bredfeld Celebration of Life Memorial: September 26, 2014.
Please join our family and John’s many friends for a celebration of his life.
John Bredfeld passed away on April 10, 2014 at his home in Durango, Colorado. As a lifelong lover of trains, John made his home in the Animas Valley for the last 12 years.
In Durango, John was active in the San Juan Large Scalers Club and hosted many events at his home. He volunteered many hours restoring the 1895 steam locomotive Engine #315 with the Durango Railroad Historical Society 315 Club. During the holiday season, he was often found dressed as Santa entertaining the riders aboard the Christmas train excursions. John was a master modeler and parts of his outdoor train layout are now on permanent display at the Railway Museum. When not pursuing his many hobbies, John befriended many a neighbor and their dogs on his daily walk with Jessie and Bubba on the Lower Hermosa Creek Road.
We look forward to sharing beloved memories with all of John’s friends.
