Hi, All -
Yesterday morning several of us were treated to GREAT visit to Knott's Berry Farm's rail operations.
Greg Coit had initiated the visit with a post on the NGDF a couple of months ago
; Jeff Taylor and Tom
Unfried were oustanding hosts - giving Greg and his wife Raven, John Cole, photographer Michael Ripley
and myself a fantastic tour of the Rio Grande Southern's far western extension.
Two live C-19 locomotives - not quite twins but clearly siblings - greeted us upon arrival at about 7:30 a.m.:
Goose #3 was shy at first, hiding behind her uncle, #41:
And #340 turned green with envy at all the attention #41 was receiving:
It may have been just the clear morning light, but #340 seemed to me just a tiny bit too green - with only a hint of the olive shade I had been expecting - but Jeff said she was this color when she came west in the early fifties. She shore is purty!!
