NNG Cass Scenic Railroad Fall Color

October 05, 2009 12:51PM
What was looking like a very early start to Fall Color suddenly came to a halt in the high mountains of West Virginia. Below is a link to my website with photos from Saturdays Bald Knob train.

This was a pretty special day for me as both original Mower Lumber Co. Shays 4 and 5, which originally ran during the lumber days of Cass pushed the train up the Hill. In the 70's you would have seen these engines together almost every weekend until the larger and more powerful Pacific Coast Shay arrived (shay #2). These two engines have probably only teamed up a half a dozen or so times since.

Enjoy the photos!
