Ended up passing through Ely on business recently and like my earlier travels through Mt Morris (my post on Huckleberry), I ended up picking a day the museum was closed. (As I now temporarily reside in Golden, I'll visit CRRM and not get strike 3 on visiting RR museums).

My purpose for this post is to thank the volunteer who - after checking me out when I was poking into obscure areas of the yard - gave me a tour of the carpenter shop and car barn. This gentleman was finishing up his volunteer project and could have headed home but he chose to take the time to show me around.

I didn't catch his name but I want to thank him for his time. The tour wasn't expected but it certainly made my day as I continued my travel across Nevada (one of my favorite states).

Thank you!smiling smileysmileys with beer
