C & C Narrow Gauge Then & Now photos #11

Here is a set of photos taken at Filben where the Candelaria Branch left the mainline. The "Then" photo is from George Turner's Narrow Gauge Nostalgia. No date is given, but it appears to be near the turn of the century. The "Now" photo was taken on June 14, 2009. George Sapp & Brian Norden are seen discussing some detail of interest (I think it was which beer was superior). I thought it would be easy to relocate this spot, but the telegraph pole must have been moved at some time because the stump we found did not line up with the old photo. From the sun angle the "Then" photo was probably taken on a late winter afternoon.
