This is a picture of Bariloche Junction in Argentina where the narrow gauge (75 cm) Esquel branch diverges from the broad gauge (5'6") Bariloche line a few miles west of Ing. Jacobacci. This involves two "main" lines and is not some yard track arrangement. Note that there are no moving parts. I am curious if there were any similar junctions in the U.S., and if the U.S. practice would have been to have one moveable point to minimize the chances of a broad gauge movement derailing (picking the point so to speak) where the narrow gauge running rail diverges.
