This is a pretty minor footnote to some very obscure ng. history, but here are pix of the IRCA (FIdeCA in Spanish) 110 first as an IRCA engine and then in its FES livery.
The above picture was taken in November 1970 at Zacapa. I believe at the time the 110 was assigned as the Zacapa switch engine. In the background is the famous Hotel Ferrocarril, were a nights stay was once described as "like spending a night in a yard office". The rooms on the second floor were in particular demand by fans, as the veranda provided a panoramic view of the yard. But that's another story.
And here two years later (November 1972) is the 110 at Sitio del Nino in its new FES livery. As best as I can tell they the same engine. Before examining the engines and checking the date stamps on the slides, I was wondering if these were different engines and perhaps there had been some number changes when IRCA engines went to the FES.
What does surprise me is that Fegua sold serviceable engines to the FES, because during this period Fegua was very short of power. It would be interesting to know more about the terms of the sale.
