Colorado and Southern Bobber Caboose paint?

Its not a general "what color is it" question, what I actually need help with is how the C&S bobbers were painted. Specifically, Hand rails, steps, ladders, pedestals and so on.

For example, the C&S 1009 at the railroad museum has everything painted the exact same color, sort of a dark oxide red. While the C&S 1006 in Silver Plume is much lighter, also caboose red, with black railings, and a black underbody.

I'm working on kitbashing a G scale caboose bank into C&S 1006, finished most of the detail work (other then installing it) and am now working on the paint job. So just trying to clear up some confusing information between prototypes.
