463 vs 483 w / green boiler

I finally was able to talk to Soni & Michelle about the 40th birthday party next year. I also told him about the fund raising that has started for a green boiler.

Soni's decision is:

1. 489 or one of the other K36's will be numbered 483 and painted the same as it was on the 1st day it made it to Chama after the states bought the railroad. He thinks since we are celebrating the 40th birthday it should look like it did on that day.

2. He is agreeable to the idea of bringing out 463 with a green boiler if you all continue the fund raising for the paint job. and will help promote by word of mouth & on the discussion boards the 463's coming out party.

I have to say this is more co-operation from this railroad than I have ever seen. To compromise and come up with a idea that takes into concern what the railroads fans want. YES life around the railroad is getting better.

Soni, Alan, Jay & I are working on some ideas for the birthday party. We in fact are looking at the first draft of a poster that my friend H.L. Scott did for the Birthday Party. More on this and additional projects to be coming soon. One thing to remember is because it falls on a holiday I suggest you make you lodging reservations early. Chama has a overnight room shortage every holiday.

Make your plans for attending the party, it will be fun and a gooood chance to visit with old friends and to make new friends.
