Track Appearance

I wonder if anyone else feels this way about track appearance...I totally understand the need for track maintenance (I work for Uncle Pete), but I lament the loss of the "quaintness" of weeds growing along the right of way and between the ties. It was sort of enjoyable to watch weeds and grass being ground up in the counterweights. Nowadays, the D&S track (and to a lesser degree) and the C&TS tracks are beginning to look more like the UP's mainline rather than narrow gauge track. Like I said, updated track and preventative maintenance are a definite need, one which is completely understandable; I just miss the "narrow-gaugey" look of the forlorn looking and weed encrusted rights of way. Just my own opinion, sorry if I ruffle any feathers with this.
