C&TS -- New 5% Preservation Fee

In an astute move first suggested by Al Harper at the last Commission meeting the C&TS will be adding on a 5% preservation fee to its ticket prices. According to the agreement between the Commission and HRM the proceeds from this fee "shall be deposited into a Commission fund and accounted for separately." Having an earmarked fund for preservation purposes is a positive innovation, and one can see it being put to use for a variety of purposes including locomotive work and rehabilitation of historic rolling stock and buildings. Will be interesting to see just how the Commission chooses to allocate such monies.
