SPNG 18 UPDATE

The Carson Colorado Rwy. would like to thank all of you who recently contributed to our matching fundraiser with the Narrow Gauge Preservation Foundation. In total over 100 folks donated a total of $39,440, which was in amounts from $10 to $1000 with one $20,000 donation! So thank you all.
As for the work, the tender is coming down the home stretch towards completion with only a handful of items remaining. This past week the front truck was reinstalled as was some new fuel tank plumbing and the rebuilt water tank gauge.
With the current fundraiser complete, the boiler work is ready to really get going. Once the final paper work is reviewed we will begin staybolt and sleeve replacement as well as a small wrapper sheet patch. The main focus for 2012 is to complete the majority of the boiler work and be ready for driver work by this time next year (assuming the Mayan's aren't right).
The next major work weekend for those interested will be February 18-19th.
