General Grant's Cottage Narrow Gauge

February 23, 2010 04:01AM
I'm on the Board of Directors of the Grant's Cottage Historic site near Saratoga Springs, NY. A narrow gauge railroad took visitors up Mt. McGregor in the late 1800s when U.S. Grant wrote his memoirs there. We would like to recreate a flavor of that narrow gauge line, perhaps with a length of track and a passenger car from that era. Can anyone help me locate such items so that we could restore the site to how it might have looked when President Grant died there in 1886?
Thanks,
