I first became somewhat sold on digital photography when I chased the "Montana Daylight" in October of 2004. My just rebuilt Nikon FM2, unbeknownst to me, was off by two speeds. Had I not been shooting half film half digital, I would have had very little to show from that trip.
Enough of ancient history. When I chased #315 last June, the last day I was there was a daytime run to Osier from Antonito and back. As the day wore on, it clouded over and the shots at the water tank were under a leaden sky. I didn't like the resulting color and, no matter how I tried, I could not get Photoshop to produce what I considered decent color. Then it hit me---dump the color. As much as I loved Kodachrome, you could neve do this.
