As a retiree, I am gonna have to take a serious pay cut from my retirement account due to the downturn in the stock market. It's either that or run out of money in just a few years. I haven't fully assessed how much this will effect my railroading, but i suspect it is gonna be very serious. I may have to curtail volunteering on my favorite NG since it is 225 miles away. I am thinking of volunteering for a local museum (12 miles from home) that has some logging equipment and a few std. gauge camp cars.

I keep looking for senior discounts, and I am also taking advantage of free skiing. At my age it only costs me the gas to get to Mt. Bachelor and back, about 2 gallons.

How is the economy affecting you?
