OK, to add to the other ship posting, last run of the last orginal steam powered paddlewheel overnight riverboat was this week. A few shots on the Tombigbee river/canal. (not to get something started, but over 2 days I saw only two barges operating with tows. Talk about a pork barrel project..build it and they might come)
Last file is passing under the NS Bridge at mile 250 with a freight train crossing above.
The DQ is being turned into a floating "Bed and Breakfast" hoping to regain it's exemption from the feds to allow overnight running and logding. Due to the wood superstructure it no longer passes current requirements, but these were intended for seagoing vessles. Something to do with non union help being hired and a stuborn Oberstar...oh well.
