NNG Big South Fork Scenic "K&T Railfan Day"

Everyone,

This morning I found out about a special "K & T Railfan Day" that is planned on the Big South Fork Scenic Railway on April 25, 2009.

Attractions include shop tours and a special railfan train with possible runby's.

For those of you who are not familiar with this standard gauge road, it runs south from its connection with the Nofolk Southern at Stearns, KY to the Blue Herrin mine. The K&T is well documented in "Ghost Railroads of Kentucky" and is a very scenic trip. I have ridden it.

They are rebuilding Morehead and North Fork #14 at present and it is special in that it one of three steamers remaining from the M&NF and one of two from the Union Railroad in Pensylvania.
