Around the World in 80 days

January 17, 2009 03:55PM avatar
Hi,

I just watched with my family the old movie "Around the World in 80 Days" from 1956 starring david niven. The railroad scenes in the US are obviously filmed on the D&RGW narrow gauge, part of it on the Silverton branch. But other scenes (especially with the wind driven railcar) are on probably filmed on other locations of the D&RGW narrow gauge network of 1956. Does anybody here have some information about it?

Thanks a lot,
Lukas (Basel/Switzerland)
