Of all the geese, number four has been pretty much the only one that has not been running for the past fifty six years.
I recently read a small snippet in Trains Magazine {I believe it was the September issue} that the Galloping Goose Historical Society, famous for it's ownership and restoration of the famed Number 5. Has taken Number Four to Dolores for restoration.
The question I ask is: what is the GGHS planning to do with Four? are they going to restore it and return it to Telluride? or has Telluride sold Four to the GGHS and are they {The GGHS} going to restore it to it's grand old self and have it run with Five on the C&TSRR and D&SNG?
This maybe just a little wishful thinking here but wouldn't it be a very nice touch if the CRRM and the GGHS and the Ridgeway Railroad Muesum were to have Geese 1,2,4 {if indeed the GGHS is the new owner},5,6,and 7 run on the D&SNG for their railfest?
No offense to C&TS but the D&SNG is the Goose's natural habitat
