The 315 ran light to Silverton today arriving shortly after noon. It is presently sitting on the passing track neax to the depot, waiting for today's scheduled trains to clear the yard, then it will be moved onto the Shennandoah siding. At some point in the immediate future, it will be loaded on Brian Fullmer's lowboy for transfer to the Silverton Northern enginehouse. Track laying will be done when there is more time available. It is one sweet little engine sitting there simmering in the afternoon light waiting for its next move in a few minutes from when I'm writing this. My camera is broken, so station agent Chris Tookey has taken a number of digital photos I'll post later.
And other Silverton yard activity today sees the 493 shrouded in plastic as the asbestos boiler lagging is being removed by a commercial asbestos abatement firm.
