Another interesting flatcar in Durango

This one is interesting. The number would suggest that this is 6500 series fishbelly flat. Obviously it is not a fishbelly. In fact it looks like any other 6600 series flatcar except for the number. Looking at the paint it has probably been numbered this way for quite some time. I wonder who made this mistake? Should it really be 6679 or not? Randy Babcock recently brought this one to my attention and this is one of his shots of the car.
