Train may run today after axle snapped
Operators of the Georgetown Loop railroad anticipate getting the tourist train running again today after an axle snapped on historic steam Engine No. 12 this week.
The malfunction, which occurred late Monday morning during the uphill run from Georgetown to Silver Plume, left the engine and passenger cars clogging the track and forced cancellations, said spokesman Tom Hill.
No one was injured, and no other damage was reported, Hill said.
