D&SNG Extra #1 South (August 24, 2008)

August 24, 2008 11:06PM avatar
According to my scanner, the Goose apparently gave up the Ghost (sorry) and had to be towed back to Durango behind the "Big Al".

I wish I had been able to record what I heard (and that it was legal to do so!) While 315's hooter was neat, the D&SNG's dispatching was fascinating. Despite having to handle a very slow moving extra, the railroad got the regular trains back to Durango on time and also had motor cars moving around (and against) the extra.
