Here are some photos from an April 2008 trip to Honduras. I was with about 25 folks on a week long medical mission to the rural Yoro mountains. It was a great time and on the last day we all chilled out down on the coastal town of Tela. We stayed at what was once the Tela RR housing compound. It is now a nice resort.
Ghosts of banana railroading were quite evident... if you had the nose for such things. A friend and I rented a taxi and soon turned up all that was to be found in the area.
I would have loved to have seen this back in the 60's when fast moving steam brought trains of fruit to waiting steamers.
