Some pics of current events....
While everyone went to the concert in Monte Vista on 7/24, I stayed to watch the engine, had dinner at Pizza Hut and a cherry coke at Sonic. All 3 of which are in this shot taken with my point-and-shoot digital with the asa cranked to 800.

Last Saturday we had a visit from Marty Huck - retired star of the famous Huckleberry Mudhens. Here is is giving sage advice to student fireman Chris Zarht, while CMO Butler looks totally bored...
18 East meets the cast and crew of 8524 West - the La Veta-Alamosa passenger train at Fir.
The Powell Returns. The big bullet-topped Powell 3-chime whistle which rode around on 489 for years in the 1980's and 1990's has been graciously loaned to us by its caretaker and is living on #18 now.
Great sounding whistle.
