This one is unusual enough that I've gone ahead and copied the description from the DPL website:
Title The Gilpin Tramway Co. A. M. Thomas, landscape photographer, Central City, Colo.
Call Number Z-187
Summary: Three Gilpin Tramway Company locomotives and gondola cars loaded with frozen ore park on railroad tracks outside the steam shed used to thaw the ore before sent to processing mill in winter. Two men stand on side of locomotive Quartz Hill 3 and a small boy and man stand on another engine, outside of Central City, Teller County, Colorado.
Date [1900 or 1901].
Creator Thomas, A. M., photographer.
Notes Title printed on mat board; also: "Robert A. Campbell, President; Bradford H. Locke, Vice-president and manager; Wm. S. Wells, Secretary and Treasurer."
Hand-written on back of mat: "This is the round house at the little long shed, the steam shed used to thaw out the ore cars in winter. They would freeze and could not be dumped in the ore mill until thawed out."
Interesting.
