On July 4th, my wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the Alder Gulch Shortline in Montana. The scenery in Western Montana is fabulous and the static equipment on display at Alder Gulch is quite interesting. Saving the best part for last though, the #12 is an incredibly beautiful steam engine. The restoration that it received and the level of maintenance that has kept it pristine is obviously a labor of love for the folks there. I found the crew to be incredibly rail fan "Foamer" friendly. I certainly urge anyone making a trip through the west to make a point to stop in there. I don't think you will be disappointed. The photos I am posting aren't the quality of many that are posted here, but hopefully you find them interesting.
