Just back from a weekend with 315, and I haven't seen mention of this yet, so...

On the (much discussed) Friends' 315 trip, we were all handed brochures for the rumored, and now confirmed, August 9th OB/MOW photo train. It'll run from Chama to Cumbres and return with "numerous photo runbys". The hope is to do a demonstration on the trip if the bugs can be worked out. From the brochure:

"This excursion will be an effort to demonstrate a true maintenance-of-way work train in the manner of the historic Denver &Rio Grande Western Railroad. We have a dedicated K-36 engine pulling a maintenance-of-way consist."

This should be a very unique opportunity. Since even the Friends' site doesn't have information on this yet, I thought I'd help spread the word. Contact the Friends' office if interested. I've already got my ticket!
