Hugo roundhouse damage

Not narrow gauge, but in Colorado and historic. During the windstorms that hit Colorado last month, about 3/4 of the north wall of the ex-UP roundhouse at Hugo was blown down by straight line winds. They have been diligently working on the structure for the last several years and had completed numerous masonry repairs to the derelict building. Most likely, the damaged wall had been weakened by freezing water over the years and was suspect anyway, so this may allow it to be repaired more solidly. They are processing an insurance claim and hope to make up the difference from the Colorado Historical Fund.

For those who have not been there, the Hugo site is much like a standard gauge version of Como, with open surroundings and great possibilities for recreating the past on an original site. Restored, it would be a great place to shelter some of the sad UP engines presently rusting away in parks. Their website can be found here:
