K-36 Cab Ride

If winter weather has you yearning for steam, check out this DVD by Highball Productions. It's 90 minutes of riding in 486 as it runs from Durango to Silverton. There is no narration, just the sounds in the cab & conversation between engineer William Colley & fireman John Hillier as they work to get their train up the Animas River Canyon. Almost all the footage is of the crew working & views from the cab. Watching it reminded me of the wonderful experience I enjoyed as "Engineer for the Day" at Sumpter Valley.
