In the late 1930s and into the 1940s, the turntable at Gunnison had some wooden attachments to both sides which appear to be about in the middle of the table. These are readily seen in photos on pages 114 and 115 in the 1989 "Trails Amoung the Columbine". The credits list the two photos as being taken in 1939 and 1947 respectively.
In the 1947 photo it looks like there are large blocks of wood and maybe some toolboxes on these structures, which give them the appearance of a work bench. Anyone have any ideas what these actually were?
