Recently I acquired a copy of the magazine called REMINISCE EXTRA, the Nov. 2007 issue. In the Backtrackin' section of this issue is a letter from Marty Robinson, who was a 15year old member of the Deadwood Central train crew. He enclosed a photo of the whole crew and a short story about working the train. Page 59 if you have access to this magazine. Wages were $50.00 per week and they had to wear their heavy wool uniforms and caps no matter what the temperature was.
