Granted it's not too dramatic, but it really captured my attention when I found it a few years ago, because it was taken about 10 miles from where I grew up. This is the south end of Boligee siding, and Perry is standing on the road into the Thetford family's farm on the engineer's side of the photo. (US highway 11 abuts the ROW on the fireman's side.)
Many years before I knew Perry had stood there, I took this one:
Quite a bit has changed between 1936 and 1984 - the ABS semaphore was replaced with CTC and US&S targets, welded rail replaced stick, the trees have grown up a bit, and the corn gave way to catfish ponds in the 1970s. About the only common element is a Southern Railway 2-8-2.
