Dear Mr Markoff
I'm just a little guy from across the pond (Britain) who has a kind of passion for elderly American narrow gauge.
I just want to say thank you for restoring the Eureka. She's a beautiful locomotive, and truly is a joy to my heart. When you say that you are keeping a piece of Nevada history, I think you are underestimating things She's a piece of WORLD history.
I agree that it is humbling to think of all that she's seen pass by, but to me the greatest thing is not just that she's 100% original, incredible in itself, but when I stand beside her, which I surely will do one day, not just the sight but the sound and the smell will be 1875.
Her soul is still original, and looks to be in good hands.Live long and well.
