Farmington Branch grading began about March 1, 1905 on 47.68 miles which were to be completed by 12/31/1905. SG Mogal #584 arrived on 3 ng flats about 6/1/1905 and was fired up 6/08/1905. The track laying machine passed Aztec 8/24/1905 and the first regular train began service to Farmington 9/22/1905 on what became the "Red Apple Line" The last SG train ran the night of 8/31-9/01/1923 and the first narrow gauge train reached Farmington 9/03/1923. The last narrow gauge train left Farmington 8/31/1968 using #483 on 30 empty cars. Over the years the Standard Gauge engines used on the Red Apple line were No. 584, 510, 514, 518, 521, 524, 525 at various times and extents, not in order and not complete.
