Hi,
I might be asking for something we've discussed defore here, but I could not find it in the archives. (I did find an interesting discussion on helpers).
I was up late last night and decided to watch Machines Of Iron Around the Narrow Gauge Circle again. It said that from Mears Junction to Marshall Pass was 14 miles of 4%. I thought that the 4% started at Poncha Jct.
As I recall, the 4% on the west side of Cumbres is about 10 miles or so from the Narrows but it seems that I recall it flattens out around Lobato (how else can a triple headed train be started by one loco to cross the bridge?).
1) how long was the west side of Marshall Pass?
2) Did Cerro summit have 4% and if so, how long?
3) What did Poncha Pass have?
4) how about RGS Dallas Divide?
5) RGS Lizard Head Pass?
6) DSP&P/C&S Alpine Summit?
7) other narrow gauge crossings?
Thanks
Doug
