The Uintah Ry was owned by the Barber Asphalt Paving Co.-part of General Asphalt Company, when the Barber Ashpult Co. purchased the Baldwin Const. No. 37567 in 1912 and numbered it Number 6. This was a standard gauge 0-4-0 engine and not a Shay. It does not answer my search of the 6th Shay when they owned 5 Baldwins per Lima Service Dept Card.
New questions are develope if this engine was located at Mack, CO or in the New Jersey plants of Barber Asphalt Co. Could it have been used in the interchange yard at Mack to arrange cars for transfer, and then become part of the ICC count of eleven (11) engines subject to inspection as per their Annual Report of the first inspection in 1912.
