"America's Fighting Railroads" by Don DeNevi has a few pages on the White Pass war operations. The page of text is noted as 'reprinted brom a book by Stan Cohen' but does not give the book title. The other eight pages contain photos of the operations.
One photo is interesting in that it looks kind of like a K-28 in a snow drift. It's hard to tell for the snow, but it clearly has a rectagular number plate just below a high mounted headlight and looks like a front end air pump.
