Engineer for a Day at SVRy *PIC*

I just returned from a trip to Eastern Oregon where I was "The Engineer for the Day" on Engine 19, Sumpter Valley Railroad's Mikado. This was one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences of my life and fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine...to be at the controls of a real steam locomotive.
My thanks go out to everyone there at Sumpter Valley Railroad with special thanks to: Dan, Scott, Jerry, Taylor, Casey and Jim. You guys are THE BEST! The hostling, the driving, lunch, the tour of the yard and the speeder drive was way, way above and beyond the call of duty! My thanks, also, to Tim Bain and the Narrow Gauge Discussion Page for hooking me up with this great organization.
I would HIGHLY recommend this program to ANYONE and EVERYONE who loves steam engines and trains!
