ive been voulenteering at the minnesota trans museum in St. Paul minnisota for about a year now and have joind the steam crew (one of 5 guys) to try and get an NP pacific to operating condition
the ultrasound came back as good the wheels aint bad shes in preety good shape so we tor here down and jacked her up and lo and behold the internal steam line to the cylinder (the one thats nigh on impossible to get at) was busted wide open. that was a few years ago now, and almost nothing has been done since, and worse we need to go over BNSF to get to ouer tourist operation and ive not heard positive ethier way if we need to put roller bearings on the engin (i know that we have to put them on the tender)
ide very mutch apreciate any ideas sugestions or words of wisdom (none at the museum seems to be able to proviede them)
