Run a real train

Just a heads up to you steam fans out there that there is a great article in the July TRAINS magazine about week-long engine running deals in Poland. This is not only on regular standard guage trains, but there is also some narrow gauge
steam as well. Imagine running a 2-6-2 or 4-6-2 on a commuter train at 60 miles per hour!!! British group sponsors this to insure steam remains at this one or two centers. This may be the last place you can experience REAL STEAM operations and have a chance to play engineer as well. If I were younger and in better shape I would be over there for a couple of weeks. One to run steam, and the other to photograph it. 6 engines are at one roundhouse in Wolstyn. I had heard about this before and even seen some pictures, but this article is more detailed and well worth your time to read. I hear it is a well recommended. Having been to Germany 3 times in the 70's for steam, this looks to be the real thing and I can imagine how great it would be.
