Ah yes.... I remember 487's from a personal encounter at Bondad Crossing in 1967 as well as on recordings. Luckily, the one we have is a dead copy of 487's (only with a seperate valve). At one time I thought of putting it on 487, but it has worn the same 5 chime its entire C&TS career (which is longer than it wore the Lunkenhimer), so it went on 489, which had the the Lunkenhimer in Salida in the 1950's.
