Did Link ever travel out west?

For several years now, I've been a big fan of the photography of O. Winston Link, whom I'm sure most of you know by now that he passed away several months ago. I know he's known for his work along the Norfolk and Western 1955-60, and I've seen some shots he did in New Orleans in the late 1940's and along the Pennsylania Railroad. However....does anyone know if Link ever traveled west to see any of the narrow guage rr's? If so...does anyone know if he did any photography while visiting? Thanks in advance.....
