C&TS Antonito Work Session Report

A quick update on Friends work session in Antonito last week;
0579 now has truss rods, end sills, and coupler pockets. This week may see more progress, including cheek plates, steps, etc.

The 6708 Idler flat is also seeing much attention as it was found the previously installed intermediate sills had serious warpage. A command decision was made to replace them, which requires disassembling much of the frame.
This year we found the valley businesses very willing to work with us. We needed some millwork, machining, and welding work done, and we were quite happy with the results.
Back in the early days of the Friends work sessions, we usually tried to have some type of social event. This year we had a slide show in Ft Knox, next year we'll try to have movies of the NG in the final years. The workers in Antonito are finding that there's some advantages working on projects there over Chama.
