For those of you who watch Facebook; there are a mess of videos showing recent activity on the railroad. They have got the belt drive in the machine Shop working and used it to punch holes in now plates for the #1033 ballast car, then rivetted them in place. A Friends paint crew painted and lettered the car.
New cross ties are going down and ballast trains are running. And the EBT #8 passenger car (Laconia, 1880) has been trucked to the Strasburg shops for repairs. They wanted to tighten the truss rods, but found the end sill would not take a strain. It will be replaced. And a couple of through rods will be added the whole length of the car to distribute the strains.
