I was looking forward to your response and thought at first it may have gone ignored!!
I can understand this as I have looked at many photos I have shot and have a hard time "hearing" a particular train in my head. However, trains like you speak going 30+ mph (im sure there were times the crew would speed to make up time), would be a somewhat unforgettable sight and sound. Especially since this is not all that common anymore. How fast do the trains go leaving Antonito?
We were fortunate enough to be at the C&TS while the FRA was conducting tests over the Chama River Bridge with engine 463 and a few cabeese. The next to last run we witnessed was at "full" speed with the brakes set on all three cabeese. While the sights and sounds have been saved to video which I will link below, I will never forget the vibrations and the rattling of the train as it passed. I was set up next to the bridge retaining wall and was only feet away when it passed. Id be lying if I said there wasn't a little fear and a touch of adrenaline coursing through my bones!!!

*edit* PS. It was raining almost the whole time. While 463 was backing up to the cabeese and while the daily passenger left, My camera was under the bucket of the tractor used for loading coal. At this point it was raining enough that I didn't want to risk damage to the camera.
