I've driven by those bridge piers for 25 years. One day back in the late 1990's I decided I wanted to get a photo of them, so I took the dirt road just east of them thinking I'd drive down near them and hike over. What I wasn't thinking about was the area had received substantial rain in the previous few days. I got about 100 feet in on the dirt road and it turned to gumbo mud. Took me about 20 minutes to extricate myself. I think there's still some of that red mud up in the wheel wells of my 1984 Dodge D-50. I need to try and go back and get a photo. Maybe when I'm in the area in about 10 days...
