George Lechner, he however took it over from his FIL, the ridge above town is Lechner Ridge.

2 coal mines and a coking operation, mainly finished in 1883, well as far as the Railroad was concerned.

Slope mines, story is they had water issues and were abandoned in favour of the Lower Mines.

Name, McLaughlin, Lechner, Como and Upper Como, maybe Coal Banks but that seems more normally used for the Lower Mines. Sometimes it can be difficult to work out which ones are being referred to.

20 odd years after they were closed it was difficult to make out what had happened there. The grade is reasonably clear.
